Vincent Kompany’s father made a point of giving his son a nice nod the day after Bayern Munich qualified for the Champions League semi-finals. A member of the Belgian Parliament, Pierre Kompany drew attention during the plenary session with his scarf in the German club’s colors.
Nothing compares to a father’s pride. After a spectacular and high-scoring match, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich eliminated Real Madrid from the Champions League title race with a 4-3 victory (6-4 on aggregate) on Wednesday night in the second leg of their quarter-final. This qualification for the semi-finals of the Champions League brought joy to a Belgian MP, but not just any MP: none other than Pierre Kompany… father of the Bavarian coach.
A member of parliament for the Engagés party since 2024, the 78-year-old Belgian was present in Parliament on Thursday, the day after the victory of the team coached by his son. The first Black mayor in his country’s history (2018-2022), Pierre Kompany arrived at the parliamentary chamber for the plenary session in the House of Representatives wearing a suit… but also a Bayern Munich scarf around his neck.
